The way you phrased it comes of as ‘you can afford treatment so the fact that you suffer too is not valid’? Just because someone can afford treatment does not make their suffering any easier.
And I can only speak for Australia, but here if your income is below a certain threshold you can get a mental healthcare treatment plan rebated by the government [almost free]. Although that’s kinda irrelevant psa for every1.
Anyway my original point was nothing to do with this, it was just ‘money doesn’t buy happiness’ is a valid point. I acknowledge that having enough money to comfortably provide for your family and yourself makes life far easier and less stressful, and this can certainly make you happier, but I also think that you can have all those things and be equally unhappy.

i think its a valid phrase and doesn’t always show privilege like idk we did a thing at uni about sons/daughters of millionaires who had everything handed to them and had unusually high rates of depression/suicide. like ya having the basic necessities makes life a lot easier and ik what it is to live w/ parents constantly struggling to pay bills and what an extra stress that puts on life but the person who can barely afford food each week could still be a lot happier than the person with the new iphone going to their 7th concert this month i think???????????? maybe money can’t buy you happiness but it can buy you an easier life with less stress which could lead to happiness/ make it easier to be happy but not necessarily
